A REFLECTION OF THE LAST FIVE YEARS
When you start in Year 7 there is nothing to be worried about. It’s a challenge, you can learn something new everyday and tell your parents everything about it. You get homework and you might go to Squirrel Wood and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
When you are in Year 8 you will know your teachers. You find the most interesting subjects, the ones you are most confident about and really like the most.
When you are in Year 9, this is where it gets tough for everybody and you choose the subjects you want to do at GCSE. Every December pupils and staff in the VI Resource Base go to Meadowhall by train. We get to buy presents and have a McDonalds!
Year 10 gets harder and you hope you’ve chosen the right options. I went on trips to Cadbury’s World and Alton Towers. You will also get help for a work placement for work experience.
When you are in Year 11 it’s all based on exams. You also have to sort out the prom - and what you’re going to wear and how you’re going to get there! It’s a bit nerve racking during the exams but the time goes by so quick. In August you will feel great because you’ll have your GCSE results and after that you will start a new life - continue at college and never wear school uniform again!
