Genies in bottles, students sprayed with steam showers and building rockets - just all in a day's assembly for our year 7s during STEMFest.
The year was treated to a Mad Science assembly on Friday (14 December). Headed by The Mad Science Group, many got the chance to see many fascinating experiments such as card tricks, making water disappear and had the mysterious forces in the universe explained.
Students braved the freezing cold weather to created their own rockets and blasted them off into space (a few metres or so) in the school car park.
One student, Dyon Ho, said: "It was amazing fun!"
English teacher and year 7 form tutor, Miss Wardle, said: "It was really entertaining. I especially liked the card trick at the beginning and the genie in a bottle."
STEMFest aims to inspire students in the subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths by offering a range of activities from Friday 14 December to Thursday 20 December 2012.
